Intentional choices…

Today I find myself wishing for Paris. Paris, where even displaying t-shirts for sale for is thoughtfully, carefully and beautifully considered. When I look at this shot, snapped at the famous Rose Bakery on my last trip to the City of Light, it makes me stop and...
Need an escape hatch?

Need an escape hatch?

When life gets really chaotic… and more than a bit overwhelming… sometimes you need an escape hatch, even if it’s only on the page. I love letting the art take over when words fail me and feelings overpower. I head to the studio and let the colors...
The Fine Art of Silence…

The Fine Art of Silence…

As I watched the monk intently preparing vegetables, I was struck by how present he was to the task at hand. There was no accompanying television announcer in the background. No music played. No traffic buzzed in the distance. Only the sounds of the knife slicing...

Recognizing the Creep…

Wisdom from a Tea Bag…

Wisdom from a Tea Bag…

… and other small signs that point the way. I love tea. I drink it every day. Often. Many kinds, in fact. But I have a special place in my heart for those brands that offer a bit of ‘fortune cookie wisdom’ with each brew. Lately, I’ve begun drinking Dandelion...

Today is my birthday!!!

Today’s my birthday and it’s a very special day! How do I this? Well, my mom said so, of course (smile). Growing up, Mom told each of us four kids that our birthdays were our ‘own personal holidays.’ And as such, they had some very special traditions attached. As the...
