What we say to each other in emails is a private conversation, right? Well, except when it isn’t. What if you worked in a newsroom where every email you sent was being ‘monitored’ (i.e. read) by someone in the IT department? I picked up Attachments recently, a bit curious as to how the story would unfold.
I don’t want to give too much away, but the story’s told primarily through an email exchange between best friends Beth and Jennifer, with cute IT guy Lincoln reading over their shoulders. They don’t quite take the email monitoring seriously so their exchange is pure girl talk, uncensored.
Rainbow Rowell was a new author to me, and I admire her for taking on a touchy subject and writing a story that’s funny, heart wrenching and a little bit creepy all at once. By the time I reached the end, I hated to part company with these gals!
Why not grab a copy and email me your thoughts… just between us girls.
