It’s gray and cold and rainy outside. While the temptation is to curl up under an afghan with a nice cup of Earl Grey, the piles I’m facing are saying ‘Not so fast!” Books, papers, magazines, mail…you name it. After a busy holiday season (and all last week at the hospital) it’s amazing how fast the mess builds up, Guess I have to admit, it’s time to get ORGANIZED.

I dream of being organized. I covet every bin and color coordinated box I see in the Container Store catalog, visualizing how neat and clever my system will be. Something right out of the pages of Real Simple. But if buying bins and boxes and file folders did the trick, I’d already be the most organized person on earth. So why aren’t I?

Well, I don’t know about you, but I feel like I get organized only to have to reorganize again a month later. Somehow it just doesn’t seem to stick. Hmmm. I’m starting to believe that there must be real wisdom in old Ben’s saying … ‘A place for everything and everything in its place’.

Apparently I have either too many everythings or not enough places. Maybe it’s time to take a different path. Wonder how much I can get rid of this weekend?
