Wow! It’s been a year, hasn’t it? So much has been written already about 2020 (and we’ve lived it together) so I won’t dwell on that here. What I will say, is that my year started with the passing of my love and partner of 30 years, and from there, my loss and grief seemed to be projected onto the world, with the losses of so many, many others.

My studio stood by, unused for most of the year. Until a few of you, my beloved ‘collectors’ gently asked for a few commissions. An ornament to commemorate a Halloween Quarantine Wedding day, hostess gifts for one traveling to be with family under Florida’s sunnier skies, a request for yet another year’s gifts to mother and daughter. These beloved women have my love and my thanks for the gentle ‘nudge’ to get back into creating.

What did I find? I was ready! Pirate chests full of hearts and jewels, fancy flamingoes and palm trees laden with ornaments swaying in the breeze, flowed from my wild imaginings through my brushes. And I found myself losing track of time.

What a joy!

Thank you, Cindy, and Susan, and Lisa. You are my muses, my sheepdogs, my cheerleaders. You’ve primed my creative pump, and now I’m diving into 2021 with a reborn spirit.

Watch this space.
